Good to the Environment

AWJ is an ongoing featured silk artist at Dharmatrading.com. Alison buys her silk and textile supplies from this company considering they are both environmentally conscious and proactive while simultaneously taking good care of their staff and customers.

10 percent of all proceeds from marine mammal themed art pieces that are purchased go to The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, California. Visit The Marine Mammal Center to learn more about the largest organization of it's kind in the world where Alison is also a volunteer.

Silk Scarves, Hanging Tapestries, and more

This is where you will find one-of-a-kind, colorful, wearable, handpainted silk art - scarves, hanging tapestries, sashes, baby blankets, table runners, and silk prayer flags. Also, just added - Original silk paintings mounted on canvas, ready to be framed and displayed!

These are perfect gift choices for someone who shares a love of animals, nature, and the ocean, or who is expecting a baby - a gift that can be enjoyed for years to come!

Current Events / News Release

AWJ is currently working with activists in her community in Pismo and Shell Beach to put an end to both legal and illegal fireworks that are not only damaging and threatening to residents, pets, the environment, and to threatened and endangered wildlife and habitat, but that are also in violation of the Endangered Species Act and Migratory Bird Treaty Act. AWJ feels strongly that her city hall should ban fireworks and uphold the law and continue efforts to help protect it’s local species such as the threatened sea otter, northern fur seals, California least terns, steelhead trout, the snowy plover, the California red legged frog, American peregrine falcons, and California brown pelicans, to name a few, which are either threatened species or ones listed on the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and therefore listed as protected. To voice your concern or to file a complaint with Pismo Beach city hall go to www.pismobeach.org and click on the left hand side in orange that says “Access Pismo Beach Citizen Request”. Your input will make the difference!
